HDFC Bank Alert: Services, Including UPI, to be Disrupted for Three Hours Today

HDFC Bank has notified its customers via email and SMS that several of its services, including UPI transactions, will be temporarily unavailable today, Saturday, for a duration of three hours due to scheduled maintenance.

As India’s largest private bank, HDFC Bank has announced that its UPI services will be offline today, making mobile banking transactions through platforms like Google Pay, Paytm, and WhatsApp Pay impossible during the maintenance window. The downtime is scheduled from 2:30 AM to 5:30 AM on August 10, 2024.

The bank cited essential system updates as the reason for the temporary disruption. Customers are advised to complete any urgent transactions before the maintenance period begins. HDFC Bank has communicated this information to its users through email and SMS alerts.

During this time, both financial and non-financial services will be affected. Customers with current and savings accounts (CASA) at HDFC Bank will be unable to conduct any transactions using the bank’s mobile banking app or third-party payment apps, including Google Pay, WhatsApp Pay, Paytm, Shriram Finance, and MobiKwik.

HDFC Bank Shares Performance

In market news, HDFC Bank shares have experienced a 2.24% decline so far in 2024, underperforming compared to the 10.26% gain in the Sensex during the same period. The bank recently released its June quarter results, which met market expectations.

On Friday, the Sensex surged by 819.69 points, closing at 79,705.91, while the Nifty climbed 250.50 points to close at 24,367.50.
