A massive fire has erupted at the Indo Amines Company located in the Dombivli MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) area today. The incident has caused panic among locals and raised concerns about safety in the industrial zone.
According to reports, the fire is intense, with flames visible from a distance. Loud explosion sounds have also been heard from the site, adding to the atmosphere of fear among residents in the vicinity. Authorities have dispatched five fire engines to the location to battle the blaze.
Ravindra Chavan, the Public Works Minister of Maharashtra, confirmed the fire at the company situated within the MIDC premises. He stated that efforts are underway to control the fire and ensure the safety of workers and locals. Employees of the affected company have been evacuated to secure areas, while volunteers and police personnel are working to shift nearby residents to safe places.
The incident has raised concerns, especially given the recent explosion at another company in the same industrial area just 15 days ago, which claimed the lives of 17 people. The Dombivli MIDC houses numerous chemical and industrial units, heightening the need for strict safety measures and prompt emergency response.
Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and follow instructions from emergency services. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and officials are focused on containing the blaze and preventing further damage or casualties.
The incident has once again highlighted the importance of stringent safety protocols and regular inspections in industrial zones handling hazardous materials. Companies operating in such areas must adhere to strict safety standards to mitigate the risk of accidents and ensure the well-being of their workers and surrounding communities.
